Jobfind and uLaunch CEO, Karena Newland (pictured above), has been elected for a three-year term to join the National Employment Services Association (NESA) Board. Her appointment commences on 24 November 2023.
In expressing her sentiments about her selection, Karena remarked:
“NESA’s work holds paramount importance in empowering Employment Services providers to offer their best to job seekers and employers. I am deeply honored and excited to serve as a representative for NESA, especially during such a pivotal juncture for our industry.”
Since its establishment in 1998, NESA has remained the peak organisation for Australia’s employment services sector.
Karena’s election to the Board follows NESA’s 2023-24 Member Directors’ Elections, with results announced by NESA CEO, Kath Mandla, in September 2023.
Karena brings more than 17 years of executive and operational expertise in Employment Services, encompassing both not-for-profit and commercial domains. Her career has encompassed roles such as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, along with executive-level responsibilities in People and Culture, and Quality Business Improvement, focusing on Audit and Compliance.
Currently the CEO of Jobfind and uLaunch in Australia, Karena is a strong leader in supporting and advocating for a diverse range of participants in employment, disability employment, health, education and mental health services.
Most recently, Karena has been the driving force behind establishing disability employment service, uLaunch, merging the best of Joblife Employment and Jobfind Disability Employment Services. With nearly 40% of uLaunch staff identify as living with disability, chronic illness or injury there is an unparalleled level of insight, understanding and connection to supporting participants find employment.
