Jobfind CEO Karena Newland was recently interviewed on radio 2CC by Rod Henshaw, discussing the current employment landscape and what’s ahead for 2022.
Karena discussed how the job market is bouncing back with many opportunities post-lockdown. The encouraging signs of employment can be seen in the last month with an increase of approximately 7.8% of job vacancies advertised, equating to 18,000 more jobs. In addition to an influx of advertised positions, people are also finding a job quicker.
Further evidence of the job market trending upwards is the success of Jobfind’s ‘1000 Jobs for Christmas’ commitment which saw Jobfind Employment Consultants hitting the mark well before the end of the campaign and continuing to a new goal of 1,500.

Finally, the topic was raised of the challenges of job seekers returning to the workforce after a few years. What’s ahead for 2022? Karena is hopeful the job market will continue to grow with rising employer confidence and a rise in full-time employment opportunities.
