We are heading up to Far North Queensland to bring you a good news story from our Cairns Jobfind centre. It showcases the quality talent we offer to local businesses and why many employers trust us to fill positions consistently.
Flo Walker, Team Leader at Cairns Jobfind, visited the local TAFE to speak to students finishing their courses and about to head into the workforce.
One of those students was Luke, who was studying Certificate III in Community Services. After the session, he registered with Jobfind straight away and started actively job searching while he completed his course.
Flo approached AbilitiesNQ, a great supporter of our service, and got Luke a placement. He started working with them as soon as his TAFE course was finished.
When a hurdle came up and Luke was stood down due to a yellow card issue, Flo worked with the employer and he was back working straight away once it was resolved.
Flo is so proud of Luke’s progress with her support and the collaboration of community relationships and partnerships.
“Luke attended the office last week to advise he has been promoted as Team Leader. It’s a full-time position with regular hours suitable for his home life as a single parent with young children.”
