Jobfind and Rathas Place in Wollongong working together

Amy Parsons - Rathas Place

The teams at Jobfind and Rathas Place in Wollongong have been working together with great results.  Two of the most recent success stories to come out of our collaboration are Amy and Dylan.

Amy Parsons, pictured on the far right, started volunteering at Rathas Place when she commenced her Cert III in Hospitality.  Not only has she gained valuable work experience, it has also resulted in her work placement for completion of her Cert III being formally conducted at Rathas Place.  With Amy’s growing confidence and extra assistance from the Jobfind team, she is planning to also volunteer with the NSW State Emergency Service in their Operation Capability Section, where she will learn how to manage and what procedures to follow in an incident situation.

Our second success story is Dylan Blair, pictured front and centre with the huge smile!

Dylan works 8 hours per week (4 hrs on Thurs and 4 hrs on Friday) at Rathas Place.  This flexible approach has enabled Dylan to continue being his younger brother’s primary carer and allowed him to discover his passion for the hospitality industry.  Dylan really enjoys his job and was only too happy to show off his new-found skills and make wonderful coffee for the Jobfind team when they recently held their team meeting at Rathas Place.

The Jobfind Wollongong team are so proud that both Amy and Dylan are now well on their way to progressing towards open employment.
