First Nations mentoring

Jobfind offers a unique mentoring support service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, based on our reconciliation action plan. Our First Nations mentoring team works side-by-side with our job seekers to develop strategies to get into the workforce, taking into account individual needs and how long they have been looking for work.

One example of our holistic service is our job seeker Mavis. Daliah Parker, Indigenous Program Manager and Clare LeCouteur, Team Leader at our Glen Waverley office, worked towards employment with Mavis into a job she loves.

Mavis came to us struggling to gain employment due to COVID. Clare quickly booked her into a traffic control course and placed her in a job in only three weeks.

Mavis enjoyed working in traffic control, but she wanted a role that offered progression and growth. So, she linked in with Clare and Daliah, who approached prospective employers on her behalf. It didn’t take long for her to land a full-time role in administration.

“I’ve been working in my new role for three months now, and it’s a job that I love. All of this wouldn’t be possible without Clare and Daliah. Thank you! I’m really grateful for all of your help, and I couldn’t recommend Jobfind enough.”

We are committed to walking alongside Mob. Our service not only supports the job seeker but their family and community too. Find out more: https://jobfind.com.au/job-seekers/first-nations-peoples/
