Jobfind has had fantastic success in engaging a fantastic employer for a recently arrived migrant, Somaieh.
Jobfind recently held interviews in Camberwell and 6 participants were put forward for a cleaning role. Somaieh stood out from the rest with her eager attitude despite having limited English as a recent arrival to Australia, limited work experience as well as the responsibility of raising two children.
She was offered employment to start immediately. This is Somaieh’s first job in Australia and she is loving her new position. Somaieh has now been in employment for 3 months and is happy with her new employment. She enjoys the work and also the flexibility it offers so that she can manage it around her children’s school pick up and drop of times.
Somaieh was hired via Earthwise Group, a labour hire company who Jobfind has partnered with to place other clients. Earthwise Group attended the job interviews day. Job interviews at Camberwell are conducted every two months and involves sending off resumes and putting forward several clients with suitable experience for the same role. Jobfind provides the location for the interview to take place ensuring clients feel as comfortable as possible throughout the process. Employers after the interviews can provide up-front honest feedback to Jobfind staff who can provide feedback immediately to clients.
Now employed, Somaieh is going from strength to strength as her confidence grows. This confidence has been noted and rewarded by her employer. Somaieh started off 10 hours per week and has since increased her work hours allocated to 16 hours per week. Next month she will be 25 hours per week. Congratulations to Somaieh!
