What is Workforce Australia?

 Workforce Australia is the Australian Government’s new employment service for all Australians and all Australian businesses.

Workforce Australia is delivered by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations from 4 July 2022. It’s about supporting people in Australia to be skilled and ready to enter the workforce and stay employed in meaningful work.

Workforce Australia also supports employers to create jobs, connect with job seekers, and build their workforce with skilled employees.

What is new in Workforce Australia Services?

Workforce Australia is a portfolio of all government skills and employment programs and initiatives. It is designed to create pathways to employment depending on an individual’s needs.

Job seekers who are claiming income support and need extra support to find and keep a job will be referred to a Provider service to receive a tailored and face-to-face service.

From 4 July 2022, Jobfind has been entrusted by the Australian Government to be a provider of five Workforce Australia programs in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

  • Workforce Australia (replacing jobactive)in Barwon, Gippsland, Inner Metropolitan Melbourne and North Western Melbourne
  • Career Transition Assistance in North Eastern Melbourne and Perth South
  • Employability Skills Training in Ballarat, Cairns, Hunter, Perth North and Sydney Greater West
  • Transition to Work in Cairns
  • ParentsNext continues in Inner Metropolitan Melbourne.

What is Workforce Australia Online?

Job-ready job seekers who are claiming income support from Centrelink will be placed into online employment services. A new online platform will help individuals self-manage their pathway to employment, including accessing and enrolling in skills development courses.

All Australians can access tools and resources made available online by Workforce Australia.
