Babba’s has been announced as the winner of the Jobfind Quarterly Employer Awards! This local family-run business is owned and operated by Nadia Softa, open seven days a week it has been a staple in the community since 1974.
Nadia, affectionately known as Babba, had a vision 45 years ago to create an open-style kitchen. Today, customers can watch their meals being prepared from start to finish. The business has transformed from a simple corner store into a modern dine-in restaurant, complete with drive-thru services and online ordering.

Babba’s has gained a stellar reputation, not just for its mouthwatering dishes, but also for its dedication to local employment and training. Nadia has fostered a robust partnership with Jobfind for over two years, collaborating closely with Employer Engagement Officer Noel Tobias. This relationship has led to numerous opportunities for Jobfind clients, with Babba’s providing valuable employment experiences that build the foundations for career progression. It doesn’t stop there though, when people in the community come to Babba’s for employment and Nadia has no open job vacancies, she sends them to Jobfind, who help them register and find suitable work.

She has an old-school approach and teaches transferable skills that will help with career progression.” Nadia herself appreciates the collaboration, stating, “I like dealing with Jobfind because Noel is bloody good.” This upbeat relationship has greatly benefited the local community as Jobfind has placed 12 clients at Babba’s, resulting in eight 12-week outcomes and three 26-week outcomes, with one more on track to reach 26 weeks. Additionally, two more clients are set to start next week.
